How do I meet the 8-hour DEA MATE training requirement with Orbit CME?

Earn the one-time 8 hours of substance use disorder training for your DEA registration by reading articles in Orbit.

Written by Faith

Add DEA License Renewal to your Orbit account, then search for and read eligible articles on treating opioid or other substance use disorders. Redeem them with the controlled substances tag to earn the 8 credits.

About the requirement

DEA-registered practitioners, except veterinarians, must complete a one-time 8 hours of training on treating and managing patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.

  • You attest to it at your first applicable initial or renewal registration on or after June 27, 2023.

  • Qualifying past education or credentials may satisfy the requirement.
