How do I get started earning credits in Orbit CME?

Choose the Orbit CME Dashboard or Ambient Mode, then search, read, and redeem eligible articles.

Choose how you want to earn: on the Orbit CME Dashboard in any browser, or with Ambient Mode in Chrome or Edge. Either way, start with a question from your practice, search for an eligible article, read it, and redeem it for credit. Orbit doesn't recommend articles or provide a feed.

Orbit CME Dashboard

Choose the Dashboard if:

  • You'd rather not install additional software.

  • You want to earn on any platform: iOS, Android, Mac, or PC.

  • Your hospital has restrictive firewall settings.

  • You need to start earning credits right away.

Find an article

  1. Sign up for an Orbit CME account or log in to your Dashboard in a desktop or mobile browser.

  2. Select a topic goal card. Use the quick search links to search Orbit's free full-text journal articles, and choose one relevant to your clinical question.

  3. Select Read more on your article.

Read and redeem

  1. Under Step 1, select the Click here link to open the article in a new tab.

  2. When you're done reading, close the article tab to return to the Dashboard. The Next button should now be blue. Select it.

  3. Complete the post-article survey.

  4. Select Redeem. Your topic credit gauge fills automatically.

Ambient Mode in Chrome or Edge

Install Orbit CME – Ambient Mode in Chrome or Edge on a Windows or Mac computer, then open it from the browser toolbar. Orbit opens in the right side panel, next to the article you're reading. Drag the divider to resize it.

Before you open Radiopaedia articles, install and turn on uBlock Origin Lite when prompted. Orbit checks ad blocking on the article page before credit is available.

  1. Sign in with your Orbit account.

  2. Open Dashboard → Search all articles and search using your clinical question or related terms. Use the Radiopaedia filter for eligible Radiopaedia articles, or select Search related articles under a requirement.

  3. Read the article and check its eligibility in the Article tab.

  4. Select Redeem CME, choose the topic that matches what you learned, and complete the evaluation.

  5. Use History to return to your reading and credit records.

Can I use both the Dashboard and Ambient Mode?

Yes. Both follow the same search, read, and redeem steps, so you can use either one.
