Pin Orbit CME – Ambient Mode to your browser toolbar so you can open its side panel while you read.
Pin the extension in Chrome
1. In Chrome on your computer, select the Extensions icon (the puzzle piece) next to the address bar.
2. Find Orbit CME – Ambient Mode in the list. Scroll if needed.
3. Select the pin icon next to it. The Orbit icon now appears in your toolbar.
4. Select the Orbit icon in your toolbar to open the side panel.
Check that it's pinned
Pin icons can look different depending on your Chrome version and theme. The reliable check is your toolbar: if the Orbit icon is there, the extension is pinned.
In the illustration, the grey upright pin means Orbit is not pinned yet, so selecting it pins Orbit. The blue pin with a slash means Orbit is already pinned, so selecting it unpins Orbit and removes it from your toolbar.
Using Microsoft Edge
In Edge, select Extensions, then select Show in toolbar next to Orbit CME – Ambient Mode. For more detail, see Microsoft's guide to managing extensions in Edge.
Use the side panel
To resize the panel, drag the divider between the article and the panel. The panel includes Article, Dashboard, and History.
Don't see Orbit in the Extensions menu? Install the new extension.
Before you open Radiopaedia
Install and turn on uBlock Origin Lite before you open Radiopaedia articles through the extension, and keep it enabled for Radiopaedia. The extension's setup prompt walks you through it, and Orbit checks that ad blocking is on for the article page before CME credit is available.
Pinning only changes whether an extension's icon shows in your toolbar. It doesn't turn an extension on or off, so uBlock Origin Lite still needs to be enabled even if you don't pin it.
