Yes - Orbit CME is accepted by the ABA for your QI Points requirement.
What is my ABA QI Points requirement for MOCA 2.0?
You are required to complete 25 points every 5 years using specific ABA-approved activities, including Orbit CME.
How do I complete these QI Points requirements with Orbit CME?
If you haven't already signed up, register for any Orbit Anesthesiology plan for yourself.
Next, you'll complete 25 QI Points in Orbit CME by following these two steps:
Step 1: Tagging Articles (15 QI points)
The first 15 QI Points (out of 25) that you earn in Orbit by tagging articles is accepted by the ABA for up to 15 QI points every 5 years, under the category of point-of-care learning. You don't need to select specific articles or abstracts - just those that are relevant to your practice. PubMed is one of many eligible sites, particularly helpful because it is free and comprehensive. Abstracts and articles from major anesthesiology journals are also eligible.
1. Read any eligible abstracts and articles specifically related to patient care topics you're encountering in your practice through your Orbit Dashboard or through Ambient mode.
2. Redeem articles that read using the QI Points (ABA) tag. It's important to use this tag, otherwise your credits will not register specifically as QI Points.
Step 2: QI Points Bonus (10 QI Points)
On your Dashboard, with the Anesthesiology Board Certification license selected, click on the QI Points Bonus (ABA Part 4) goal card. In order to earn the 10 QI points, you'll need to complete all three requirements listed there, in Anesthesiology, Patient Safety, and QI Points.
How was the QI Points Bonus designed?
The QI Points Bonus is structured as a formal Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle as part of an ABA-Approved QI Activity focused on improving MOCA 2.0 compliance. By quantifying your compliance, giving you clear feedback, measuring your compliance over time, and providing you paths to close your compliance gap, the QI Points Bonus is designed to drive quality improvement through compliance with MOCA 2.0. Anesthesiologists across all practice types use Orbit CME for QI Points, from solo practice to large groups.
What if I'm audited?
Because Orbit is already approved for QI Points by the ABA, and your credits auto-sync to the ABA, there is no additional auditing required for these credits. 🎉
