How to easily earn trauma CME credit online
There are free and paid ways to earn trauma CME, but time and quality of activity are important considerations. Orbit Trauma is a paid option that simplifies the process for both trauma and pediatric trauma CME requirements, and it works online using your computer, iPad, or iPhone.
There are many ways to earn your trauma CME. Whether live or online, free or paid, the fundamental tradeoffs relate to your time and the quality of the activity. One new activity called Orbit Trauma makes it easy to earn all of your required trauma credits online, including adult and pediatric trauma credits.
To meet the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Trauma Quality Improvement program requirements you'll need to earn a total of 36 CME credits every 3 years. All of the credits you earn with Orbit Trauma are AMA PRA Category 1 Creditâ„¢ and satisfy all of your trauma credit requirements. You can learn more about your ACS trauma credit requirements here.
With Orbit Trauma, you'll earn this required CME by selecting and reading eligible articles on your computer, iPad, or iPhone, and filling out a short survey for each article. Orbit Trauma captures your visits to these articles for credit, either using the browser extension with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, or the Orbit CME app on iOS devices.
To get started, select either Basic or Pro plans. The Pro plan renews every 3 years, which matches your 3-year renewal cycle. The Basic plan has a one-month trial, which is a good way to get started for free, but you'll still need to activate your subscription to complete redeeming all your required credits. Both plans allow you to purchase more credits by adding Boosts from your subscription view, and you can upgrade from Basic to Pro anytime.
