ABR eliminates SA-CME Requirement for OLA Participants
The ABR has just announced that 2022 is the last year that self-assessment CME (SA-CME) will be required for Maintainance of Certification (MOC) for diplomates who are enrolled in Online Longitudinal Assessment (OLA).
The ABR has just announced that 2022 is the last year that self-assessment CME (SA-CME) will be required for Maintainance of Certification (MOC) for diplomates who are enrolled in Online Longitudinal Assessment (OLA).
As a result, March 1, 2023 is the last attestation period is the last period where SA-CME attestation will be required.
Do ABR diplomates still need to complete CME?
Yes. You will still need to earn 75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ within the 3 year period extending back from any given March 1st attestation deadline.
Do ABR diplomates need to submit SA-CME?
No. You will no longer be required to submit SA-CME if you're participating in OLA. Remember that you still have a CME requirement due with your March 1st attestation deadline - 75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ within preceding 3 years.
What is my Online Longitudinal Assessment (OLA) annual progress requirement?
The OLA annual progress requirement is typically 52 questions per year, but can vary depending on how many certificates you hold.
What if I am not an OLA participant?
Diplomates not participating in the OLA requirement will still be required to earn 75 Category 1 CME credits with 25 of those being SA-CME credits.
